A journey into the science of boxing as practiced by two Indian women, the story unfolds as the women wrestle with their existence as boxers and the surrounding conflicts. While one of the boxers begins to understand her sexuality, the other struggles with the limitations of her body and the need to prove that she can box like her brother. Shot over a period of two-and-a-half years using cinema verite style, Punches N Ponytales articulates the boxers’ concerns while sharing their experiences and ideas about the future.
