A “work-in-progress” screening of Ghosts of Johnston County, a documentary film by WFU graduate students Eric Juth and Michele Ferris.

Ghosts of Johnston County tells the story of a handful of persistent advocates who lead an ongoing struggle to expose their community’s ties to the CIA’s extraordinary rendition and to shed light on the compelling human stories of its victims. The film unveils an “on the ground” account of this struggle, ending with a personal dialogue between advocates and a European survivor of the NC “torture taxi” flights. The film also includes critical commentary by Col. Morris Davis, the former lead U.S. prosecutor at the Guantanamo Bay Detention Center.

The film will be introduced by law students who are a part of UNC Law School’s Human Rights Policy Project and will be followed by a Q&A session with both the film’s director and one of the film’s central characters.

The screening is free and will take place at the Nelson Mandela Auditorium at UNC Chapel Hill.
